The United States government is launching a new initiative, dubbed the “US Tech Force,” designed to rapidly recruit and deploy AI and tech talent across federal agencies. A key component involves partnerships with private sector tech giants—Amazon Web Services, Apple, IBM, Meta, Nvidia, OpenAI, and Oracle—allowing their employees to take temporary leaves to mentor participants. Fellows who complete the program will be eligible for employment consideration at these partner companies, though no firm hiring guarantees have been made. Notably, participants will not be required to divest from existing stock holdings during their fellowship.
