ShipBee, a Qatar-based digital logistics marketplace leveraging artificial intelligence, has closed a $500,000 seed funding round led by Doha-based venture firm GrowthX Capital. The investment will fuel expansion of its technology platform, team growth, and operational scale-up across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region and Egypt.

Rapid Growth and Prior Funding

Founded in March 2024 by Tamer Raafat and Amer Azani, ShipBee connects businesses and consumers with a network of shipping and delivery providers. This latest funding follows a $235,000 (QR855,000) pre-seed round from GrowthX Capital in June 2025, bringing the company’s total external funding to approximately $735,000. Notably, ShipBee doubled its user base within six months of its initial funding.

Solving Logistics Inefficiencies

The company addresses key pain points in the GCC logistics sector—fragmentation and inefficiency—with real-time tracking, route optimization, and forecasting tools. ShipBee’s platform allows users to book shipments, compare options, and track deliveries in a single interface. The business has already forged partnerships with major players including DHL, Qatar Post, Snoonu, and NEXX.

Validation and Support

ShipBee’s concept gained early validation by winning the first QDB Innovation Hackathon for Mobility in 2024, earning it entry into Qatar Development Bank’s QBIC incubation program. The program helped establish key industry partnerships and accelerate early growth. The company is registered in the Qatar Free Zones, positioning it for regional expansion.

Regional Trends in AI Logistics

ShipBee’s seed round, while modest, reflects growing venture capital interest in AI-driven logistics across the Middle East. Over the past few years, startups in Saudi Arabia, the UAE, Qatar, Egypt, and Iraq have attracted funding for applications ranging from route optimization to warehouse automation. The opportunity is significant: logistics remains a critical bottleneck for regional businesses, and AI offers a clear path to efficiency gains.

ShipBee’s success underscores the potential for localized AI solutions to disrupt traditional logistics models. The company’s early traction and strategic partnerships suggest it is well-positioned to capitalize on the region’s evolving logistics landscape.
